Wife of killed man in Halsteren died of natural causes | Inland

Grinwis’ wife (72) died in May 2020. In August last year, the woman’s body was exhumed, because there were suspicions that she might have been killed like her husband.

Yvon K. (62) had been recruited as a therapist for Grinwis’ demented wife, although she was not a doctor. It was not until her death that it became clear that Grinwis had a relationship with the therapist. Chris Grinwis himself died in the evening or night of 8 to 9 December 2020. A suicide drug was found in his blood.

Will amended

Two months before his death, Grinwis amended his will. It is suspected that K. Grinwis poisoned by administering the stuff in a glass of wine. The same euthanasia drug was found in her home as the one used by the supermarket owner. The woman is also a consultant for the Dutch Association for Voluntary End of Life.

According to the prosecutor, money was the motive: “She knew she had become the sole heir of possibly millions.” She also pointed to three exes of the woman, with whom she would also have been out for their money. The woman herself denies everything: “I dare to say that I have nothing to do with Chris’s death. I have not assisted with suicide or given any information about it.”

The woman’s lawyer Esther Vroegh requested the court to release K.. In her view, there is too little evidence that K. actually administered the drug. The court did not agree. K. remains stuck. The woman is also admitted for observation in the Pieter Baan Center.

The next hearing is scheduled for April 14.
