After three years together, entrepreneur and innovator Elon Musk and Canadian singer Grimes have separated, reports the American edition “Page Six”.
The 50-year-old Musk, who heads SpaceX and Tesla, confirmed to the publication that they are no longer together with the 33-year-old star, whose real name is Claire Boucher.
According to him, however, the two continue to be on good terms and raise their one-year-old son together.
“We broke up, but we still love each other, see each other often and have a great relationship,” explains the billionaire.
According to him, the reason for their separation and the end of their relationship is his work, as the huge amount of commitments related to his business takes a huge part of his time.
“Mostly my work at SpaceX and Tesla requires me to be mostly in Texas or traveling abroad, and her job is mostly in Los Angeles,” Musk said.
The two last appeared together at a public event at the big Met Gala in early September. Then, however, Grimes walked the red carpet alone, and the businessman joined her only at the party after the official part.

Musk and the singer have been dating since May 2018, and their first appearance together was again at the Met Gala. In May 2020, the couple had a son, who was given the name X Æ A-12, and according to the official explanation, X in the name is “unknown variable”, Æ is the elven spelling of AI (artificial intelligence or love), and A-12 is an American high-altitude reconnaissance aircraft.
Because US authorities do not allow numbers to be entered when registering the name of a newborn, the name of Musk’s sixth child was recorded as X Æ A-XII.
