Why has Christian Cerland just created the Kam Studio Box, the new recording studio in Montluçon?

A new rehearsal and recording studio has just been created in the heart of Montluçon, 61 rue Barathon. Sound engineer, director of Free Son Live but also DJ, under the name of Chris-Timer, Christian Cerland has just added a new string to his bow with the Kam Studio Box.

A few years ago, I joined a group. I had the idea of having a work tool for me at the start. It was a new challenge that I liked very much and I went further and further into thinking

Four years of reflection, seven months of work, eighteen patents

A recognized professional in the world of sound, events and music, Christian Cerland is also a judo and motor sports champion which, according to him, gives him a taste for performance. He thus thought of a high-tech studio of 24 m2 which required four years of reflection, seven months of work and has eighteen patents.

A high-tech studio designed with a specialized company

The studio is a soundproof box co-designed by Christian Cerland and a specialized company HDS Cabins which works in France and abroad. The Kam Studio Box will also serve as a showcase for the Parisian company to promote its work.

Each plaque on the walls and on the ceiling is unique. They are intended to be where they are for a specific purpose. The goal is to render all the subtleties of the sound of each instrument. You don’t have to play hard to get there, so rehearsal or recording sessions are less tiring for musicians and less harmful for hearing.

Professional or amateur musicians are welcome

The studio is open to all “whatever the instrument or level” of musicians who request it for rehearsal or recording sessions.

Montluçon is a good breeding ground. There are very good musicians, whether professional or amateur

In the case of a session without a technician, the musicians will only have access to the “box”. “They can come without or with their equipment and they can leave with a registration. It could be a quick recording so they can work later or something more precise until the actual production of a disc. “

“Big ambitions” around the recording studio

“Affordable” rental rates

Rates start at around a dozen euros an hour and will increase according to demand. “I wanted to keep studio access affordable. I can also do instrument security in the event of close sessions to avoid having to move everything every time. “
