Why does Russia need surface carriers?

/Pogled.info/ In Russia, they decided to create an all-terrain vehicle for transporting people and goods to the combat zone. Note that it should be easy to maintain and repair. What could such an aircraft look like and what could be its practical application in solving military problems?

On Sunday it became known that the Center for Modern Weapons of the 46th Central Research Institute of the Russian Defense Ministry is developing the concept of an all-terrain vehicle for transporting people and goods in the combat zone.

The idea of u200bu200bthe above platform is that it will not be a real aircraft complex, expensive and serviced by highly qualified aircraft technicians, but an apparatus that will rise above the surface with the help of propellers and move along the ground. Technical requirements include ease of maintenance and repair, the source said. According to him, the prototype of the raised platform should appear after 2025.

The news of this was a logical continuation of the recent statements by Russian President Vladimir Putin. So, during a meeting with the mothers of servicemen-participants of the SVO, he said that Russian industry is working to supply the troops with drones and quadcopters. Later, speaking at an event dedicated to the 15th anniversary of Rostech, the Russian leader instructed the state-owned company to increase production of products needed by the military.

UAV expert Denis Fedutinov noted that combat operations in recent years require an accelerated supply of units with ammunition, provisions and medicines, as well as rapid evacuation of the wounded.

Therefore, in the leading technologically advanced militaries of the world, a number of projects are being implemented, designed to speed up the solution of such tasks. As one of the proposed promising options, the expert pointed to the unmanned vehicle “Cormoran” (formerly known as “Air Mule”) of the Israeli company “Tactical Robotics”, which can fly, even at low altitudes, as well as in urban conditions thanks to its closed position on the fins. According to Fedutinov, in the case of Russian development, we can talk about a similar technical solution.

In turn, the head of the Center for the Development of Transport Technologies, Acting State Counselor of the 3rd class of the Russian Federation Alexei Rogozin suggests that “the relief platform can be something like an experimental aircraft with vertical take-off and landing of large dimensions, designed for a specific task – covert and operational movement of small loads.

“This device obviously has to perform tasks in an active adversarial environment. This means that it will be equipped with autonomous navigation and control systems that will allow it to fly without constant communication with an external pilot, which is critical in the conditions of active operation of radio-electronic warfare equipment, ”the expert believes.

“Such a drone will definitely be required to solve logistical problems, including the evacuation of wounded and cargo from the combat zone. As far as I know, similar work is being done today in the United States and China,” he said.

“It is worth noting that the creation of such drones has become possible thanks to the development of electric transport in general. In recent years, a new generation of batteries, electronics and electric motors has emerged that can make it possible to create a new generation of vehicles vertical take-off and landing,” the source added. “Indeed, this is a revolution for the aviation industry. And there is no doubt that there will be military applications for such technologies,” Rogozin stressed.

In addition, such projects will simplify solutions to problems observed in military logistics. We noted earlier that rethinking approaches to logistics could speed up the delivery of weapons and ammunition to the front. Thus, according to military expert Ilya Kramnik, in the current conditions it is possible to attract large trading companies that deliver goods across the country to perform logistics tasks.

“Perhaps the pattern of work will be the formation of new rear management from an established team of specialists from SDEK, Ozone and Wildberrys.” Of course, the company’s employees will need to be registered as military personnel with full benefits and, of course, higher salaries than they have full-time at their companies,” Kramnik noted on his Telegram channel. “The goal in this case is to study the existing delivery system, get recommendations and implement them immediately.”

Ilya Kramnik’s proposal was also supported by Alexey Rogozin, who considered the idea a “normal practice in a mobilized economy”. “You can pay back the debt to the motherland not only with a machine gun in hand, but also in the basic profile of education, experience and knowledge. Give this opportunity and many of those who temporarily left the country will return with pleasure,” wrote Rogozin on his Telegram channel.

In addition, judging by the October publication of the New York Times, the United States has increased the supply of weapons to Ukraine through private exporters by the dozen, reducing the period for negotiating agreements from weeks to hours. Thus, new technical approaches, coupled with the creation of bench conveyors, can significantly simplify logistics processes in the interests of the Russian Armed Forces.
