Sascha Hildmann Considered for 1860 Munich Coaching Role
1860 Munich has reportedly offered the position of head coach to Sascha Hildmann,formerly of SC Preußen Münster,according to data from Merkur and tz. The search for a new coach comes after the club’s recent instability in the role, and as they prepare for the upcoming season.
The Lions are seeking a leader to guide them after a period of transition. hildmann,53,successfully led Preußen Münster from the regional league to the 2nd Bundesliga before being dismissed at the end of April. His availability presents 1860 Munich with an experienced option familiar with achieving promotion success.
Other candidates have also been considered, including Thomas Wörle, coach of SSV ulm until March, while the name of Michael Köllner, who previously managed the club from November 2019 to January 2023, continues to surface among fans. Köllner’s previous tenure saw near misses in promotion attempts, and he most recently coached at Ingolstadt from April 2023 to May 2024.
A potential fan favorite, Peter Pacult, a club legend, is also available. Pacult concluded his four-year, 156-game tenure as coach at Austria Klagenfurt in April. He was previously coached by Werner Lorant during his playing career in Munich.
