Who to seat in Fantasy Football? – Week 17 NFL 2020 Season • First and Ten

We present you the list of players you must leave on your bench in Week 17 of Fantasy Football, the last of the 2020 NFL Season.

We will try to put players with doubts instead of those who are obviously not going to line up. (NOTE: The Half-PPR format is considered).

In case of not including the players you wanted to see or have more questions, you can write to our Twitter accounts directly so that you can put together your best Fantasy Football weekly line-up: @Firstydiez, @ulisesharada and @ Ale31Mg.

  • Effectiveness in players to sit in week 16: 11 hits, 7 errors

These should NOT be your Fantasy Football headlines this week:

Quarterbacks

Baker Mayfield – Cleveland Browns (vs. Pittsburgh Steelers)

He’s the unreliable early-season quarterback again. Listed as a starting player in week 16, he barely scored 8 points against the fourth worst defense against QB in Fantasy Football. It may help the Browns advance to the playoffs, but it will be measured at a defense that allows the second fewest points to position and is the second best against passing attack in the NFL.

Statistical forecast: 279 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT – 13.16 points

Sam Darnold – New York Jets (@ New England Patriots)

Despite the fact that in recent games he has shown off and helped the Jets achieve their first two victories of 2020, this week will be difficult. You will face the eighth best defense against quarterbacks and the seventh best against passing attack. New York may win and perform well, but the Patriots’ defense is eighth worst against the running game and they could do more damage there.

Statistical forecast: 224 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT – 10.96 points

Tua Tagovailoa – Miami Dolphins (@ Buffalo Bills)

The rookie will start one more week and this time he would not be replaced in the final minutes by QB Ryan Fitzpatrick, as he tested positive for COVID-19. Although he can help guide the Dolphins to the playoffs, it is difficult to start him in Fantasy Football. He will be measured at the eighth best defense against aerial attack in the NFL, plus he has only passed 20 points in a game.

Statistical forecast: 212 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT – 10.48 points

Running Backs

Dare Ogunbowale – Jacksonville Jaguars (@ Indianapolis Colts)

Rookie RB James Robinson will not play in Week 17, making him the backfield leader again after registering 71 yards on 14 carries against the Bears. Even so, this Sunday he has a difficult confrontation because he will face the second best defense against the running game in the NFL, so it is better not to consider it and look for other options.

Statistical forecast: 43 yards; 4 receptions, 28 yards – 9.1 points

James Conner – Pittsburgh Steelers (@ Cleveland Browns)

Last week it again exceeded double digits in points (the first time since week 11), showing that it is a weapon in the red zone. Still, this week it will be better not to start it. He will have his offense led by QB Mason Rudolph, so they will likely not be close to scoring in the game. Finally, he will be measured to the seventh best defense against RB in Fantasy Football.

Statistical forecast: 32 yards; 1 reception, 7 yards – 4.4 points

Leonard Fournette – Tampa Bay Buccaneers (vs. Atlanta Falcons)

In the last two games he was able to produce as expected in the campaign, as he exceeded double digits in points in both games and in one of them he finished with 20.00. However, this Sunday could see the return of RB Ronald Jones, which lowers his value. Added to that, he will be measured at the ninth best defense against running backs and seventh best against the running game in the NFL.

Statistical forecast: 37 yards; 2 receptions, 21 yards – 6.8 points

Wide Receivers

Christian Kirk – Arizona Cardinals (@ Los Angeles Rams)

Between the last three games he has accumulated 18 targets and 13 receptions, showing that he is an important piece of the Cardinals game plan. In fact, last week he was more productive than WR DeAndre Hopkins finishing with 11.10 points. However, this week it will be better to sit him down as he will be measured at the best defense against WR and the number one against the NFL air attack (and which he faced in week 13, registering just 0.70 points).

Statistical forecast: 4 receptions, 51 yards – 7.1 points

Greg Ward – Philadelphia Eagles (vs. Washington Football Team en SNF)

He has become a reliable receiver for QB Jalen Hurts, since between the last four games (in which the rookie played) he has accumulated 18 targets, 11 catches and two double-digit games in points. This week may not be the best for him, as he will be measured at the fifth best defense against receivers and third best against passing attack in the league.

Statistical forecast: 4 receptions, 48 yards – 6.8 points

Diontae Johnson – Pittsburgh Steelers (@ Cleveland Browns)

It is currently the WR20 and in three of the last four games it has exceeded double digits in points. A reliable and constant receiver, but this week he has an unfavorable situation. QB Mason Rudolph will be the one who will pitch him, with whom he has worked little. Added to that, he could be rested for part of the game considering the Steelers have already tied up AFC North.

Statistical forecast: 4 receptions, 43 yards – 6.3 points

Tight Ends

Dalton Schultz – Dallas Cowboys (@ New York Giants)

It’s part of the Cowboys’ offensive plan, but he has five straight games in which he doesn’t exceed double digits in points. He’s more of a safety valve for QB Andy Dalton than a consistent option, even though he scored in Week 15. He’d be better off benching this week, especially considering Dalton himself found chemistry with his three WRs.

Statistical forecast: 3 receptions, 37 yards – 5.2 points

Jacob Hollister – Seattle Seahawks (@ San Francisco 49ers)

In the last two games he scored TD, although he still cannot register double digits in points in a game of the 2020 Season. Despite the fact that he is TE1 in the air game and that in the last two games he accumulated 8 targets and 4 receptions, this week is complex for him. It will be measured at the best defense against position and the fourth best against the passing attack in the NFL.

Statistical forecast: 3 receptions, 33 yards – 4.8 points

Zach Ertz – Philadelphia Eagles (vs. Washington Football Team en SNF)

In the three games in which QB Jalen Hurts has thrown him, he has accumulated 17 targets and 7 receptions, which means that he is someone that the rookie considers. However, they have not been able to pass double digits in points and this week their confrontation does not lend itself to closing that way. He will be measured at the eighth best defense against TE and the third best against air attack in the league.

Statistical forecast: 4 receptions, 42 yards – 6.2 points

Kickers

  • Tyler Bass – Buffalo Bills (vs. Miami Dolphins)
  • Matt Prater – Detroit Lions (vs. Minnesota Vikings)
  • Joey Slye – Carolina Panthers (vs. New Orleans Saints)

Defenses

  • New England Patriots vs. Jets
  • Kansas City Chiefs vs. Chargers
  • Philadelphia Eagles vs. Washington en SNF
