“The number of reported cases has been stable for four days,” said WHO director Michael Ryan on Saturday. “That is good news and could be an indication of the effectiveness of the precautionary measures that have been introduced.” Ryan remains cautious and does not venture any predictions.
The Chinese authorities have largely cut off Hubei province, the epicenter of the virus outbreak, from the outside world.
