GENEVA, KOMPAS.com – Head of the World Health Organization ( WHO), Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, hope for a pandemic corona virus will expire in less than two years.
Speaking in Geneva, Switzerland, on Friday (21/8/2020), Ghebreyesus warned that the Spanish Flu in 1918 took two years to overcome. BBC.
But he added that current technological advances could allow the world to stop the virus “in less time”.
With so much connectivity and the high mobility of modern society, the corona virus has a greater chance of spreading.

Ghebreyesus also responded to questions about corruption related to personal protective equipment ( APD) during the pandemic, which he described as criminal acts.
“Any kind of corruption is unacceptable. But corruption related to PPE … for me is actually murder,” he replied.

He added because if health workers work without PPE, then their lives are at stake. And it also endangers the lives of those they serve.
