The inhabitants of the Czech Republic will put down the veils from 1 July, the Ministry of Health will abolish the general obligation to protect the respiratory tract. However, people in medical or social facilities will still have to wear respiratory protection. The opening hours of catering facilities will also be extended from July. From the beginning of the holidays, restaurants and pubs can be open between 23:00 and 06:00.

In the capital, the regulation will also apply to subway travel, but in the tram or bus, passengers will be able to put down the veil.


Measures in the Moravian-Silesian Region

The disintegration does not apply to the entire Moravian-Silesian region, where the number of cases is growing. From July, the obligation to wear a veil applies throughout the region to mass events for more than a hundred people and to “people performing epidemiologically serious activities in closer contact than 1.5 meters from the client, with the exception of catering services,” said the Ministry of Health. Cross-border workers in the region will also have to prove themselves to the employer with a negative test.

“We are directing all the forces of hygienists to the Moravian-Silesian region, especially to the Karviná region. It is not uncommon for people with signs to attend celebrations and other mass events. Subsequently, hygienists deal with hundreds of contacts, “said Minister of Health Adam Vojtěch (for YES).

Restrictions will be even stricter in the local hotspots of the Moravian-Silesian Region

Even stricter measures are being introduced by the regional hygiene station from 30 June for the most affected municipalities. They will apply in the territory of Karviná, Frýdek-Místek, Frýdlant nad Ostravicí, Jablunkov, Bohumín, Havířov, Orlová, Český Těšín, Třinec and all municipalities for which they exercise extended powers.

The obligation to wear a veil will apply to public transport and all indoor areas outside the residence. Catering facilities (including gardens) will have to be closed between 11 pm and 8 am, but sales will be possible through a window. The maximum number of people at mass events will be limited to one hundred, a maximum of one hundred people will be able to stay in swimming pools at the same time.

The ban on visits will apply, with exceptions, to inpatient health care facilities and residential accommodation, and their staff will also be tested. Manufacturing companies will have to limit the meetings of employees of different shifts.

Extraordinary measures will apply until further notice in local outbreaks. The Ministry of Health and the Institute of Health Information and Statistics monitor the situation with the help of system that evaluates risk developments in the regions covid-19 disease.
