The 137 members of the Bretagne ID Large association have chosen the “Recolore” theme this year, with the desire to “project themselves into a positive event”. Founded in the 80s in Silicon Valley, the TED foundation wanted to become a global brand from the 2000s, and thus allow all cities to create events at their initiative.
In Rennes, the entrepreneur Laurent Raison initiated the first event, in 2012. Each year, the American foundation renews or not a free license, in particular depending on feedback from the public. In 2019, with a full house of 3,500 people, the Rennes TEDx becomes the largest in Europe.
For the 2021 edition, 3,000 tickets have been put on sale, and 40% of available seats have already found buyers. To respect the distances related to sanitary measures, two sessions are organized on September 25, one at 3 p.m. and the other at 8:30 p.m.
