The representative of the World Health Organization (WHO), Melita Vujnovich, said that Russia has proposed eight vaccine options for coronavirus infection.
“The contribution of Russia is very large. We have registered eight candidate vaccines from various Russian institutes, ”she said (quote from “RIA News”) At the same time, Vuynovich noted that the media speaks of a much larger number.
She added that a total of 124 candidate vaccines from different countries were registered with the organization, of which ten are at the stage of clinical evaluation, and 114 are at the preclinical stage.
In April, the Coronavirus Control Headquarters reported that WHO included nine Russian vaccines against COVID-19 in the list of promising vaccines from COVID-19. Six of them were developed by the Novosibirsk center “Vector”, two by the BIOCAD company, and one by the Research Institute of Vaccines and Serums in St. Petersburg.
