The identity of the victim was not disclosed. It is the second wounded person who died in a hospital in Australia.
The death toll now stands at twenty, including the two people still missing. According to the authorities, it is almost certain that they died. So far, six bodies could be salvaged. During the eruption there were 47 people on the island off the New Zealand northeast coast. Twelve of them were so badly burned that they too did not survive the natural disaster.
