Donald Trump Undergoes MRI Scan, White House Offers health update
WASHINGTON – Former President Donald Trump underwent an MRI scan as part of routine health checkups, the White House confirmed today, July 26, 2024. The scan follows recent public scrutiny regarding the 78-year-old’s physical well-being, including observations of swelling in his lower legs and bruising on his hand.
The White House has sought to proactively address concerns about the former president’s health as he campaigns for a second term. While Trump previously described himself as “the healthiest president that’s ever lived” in 2022, recent visible health indicators have prompted increased media attention and questions from the public. The results of the MRI scan are currently being reviewed by his medical team.
In July, Mr. Trump was diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency (CVI) after noticing ”mild swelling” in his lower legs. dr.Barbabella explained that CVI, a condition where blood pools in the veins, is “a benign and common condition, particularly in individuals over the age of 70.”
Concerns were also raised regarding photos showing bruising on the back of Mr.Trump’s hand, which appeared to be covered with make-up. White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt attributed the bruising to “minor soft tissue irritation from frequent handshaking and the use of aspirin” prescribed to reduce the risk of heart attack and stroke.
