The White House ruled against a Republican bill in Florida accusing that it “it would practically eliminate a woman’s rightby lowering the abortion threshold from 15 weeks to just six.

“The bill proposed by Florida would ban abortion before many women know if they are pregnantvirtually eliminating a woman’s right to make decisions about her own body,” said White House spokeswoman Karine Jean-Pierre.

The Florida state initiative was given during a state governor’s rally, and possible presidential candidate from the United States, Ron DeSantis.

If this initiative is approved, Florida would become one of the more restrictive states with abortion in United States.

In addition to the bill, the governor released another conservative initiative that aims to Veto the teaching of issues related to sexual orientation and gender identity in primary schools.

If approved, this initiative will also prohibit attributing to a student “a pronoun that does not correspond to their sex” considering that “a person’s sex is an immutable biological trait.”

Heading towards the 2024 elections

The governor of Florida has become the new star of the Republicans, followed by the former President Donald Trump.

“Together we have made Florida the most desirable destination in the country,” DeSantis told lawmakers in Tallahassee, the state capital. “We will stay the course. We will not back down and I can promise you one thing:’they haven’t seen anything yet‘” he added.
