Where to invest this year? Estonian experts name promising Baltic shares

The money that is saved in the stocking, if the goal is to save for the future, is destroyed by inflation – the value of money decreases every year. One of the solutions is to invest money in financial markets, for example in domestic or neighboring companies represented on the Baltic Exchange.

“Delfi Bizness” previously shared the recommendations of Lithuanian financial market experts and Latvian stock market watchers for 2023, now it is the turn of Estonian investors to share their thoughts on which shares should be kept in sight this year.

Analysts emphasize that the current trends are short-term and investors should focus on the long-term competitive advantages of companies.

Andrejs Rodionov, head of equity research at Estonian Swedbank, comments on the prospects of the Baltic market

“Given weaker macroeconomic forecasts this year and more cautious corporate commentary, we expect average corporate revenue and net profit in 2023 to be about the same as in 2022,” says the bank’s expert, noting that the post-pandemic recovery will be negatively affected by a “triple shock” – rising capital costs, labor costs and energy prices.
