Where does it get dangerous in Germany?

After a lot of sun and cool temperatures on the weekend, humid and milder air will come to Germany from Monday. The German Weather Service (DWD) warns of black ice due to freezing rain at the beginning of the week. This will initially affect the west of the Federal Republic on Monday, and in the afternoon the danger zone will expand to the south and east. “Disabilities in traffic are therefore likely at the beginning of the week,” said the DWD. The risk of black ice still exists on Tuesday and Wednesday.

An overview of the federal states:

Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland: rain, clouds and ice

After a lot of sun on the weekend, the people of Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland have to be prepared for more clouds and rain over the next few days. As the German Weather Service (DWD) announced on Sunday, the week starts with precipitation, especially in the north of the region. Since this usually falls freezing, the meteorologists warned of black ice. The temperatures should reach a maximum of between zero degrees in the Westerwald and up to five degrees in the Saarland.

According to the forecast, the risk of ice will continue on Tuesday night. The day therefore begins very cloudy, but during its course the sky is likely to loosen up, especially in the northeast. It will remain largely dry – at six degrees in the Westerwald and eleven degrees on the Middle Rhine and Saar.
