“When Marvel Villains Had Justifiable Motivations: A Retrospective”

In the Marvel universe, there are two categories: the bad guys and the good guys. However, villains are not always wrong…

If the villains Marvel are always singled out by the fans, the latter are not always wrong. To prove it, here are the times the villains had understandable motivation! MCE TV tells you everything from A to Z!

Villains galore in Marvel

Ultron, The Vulture, Ego, Thanos. Marvel villains are plentiful. And most of the time, these are not very popular with comic book lovers.

However, there are times when MCU villains don’t have to be wrong. Indeed, some even sometimes had quite fair motivations.

In Captain America: Civil Warfor example, Baron Helmut Zemo uses the Sokovia Accords to his advantage and makes sure to prove that Captain America and his allies have become war criminals.

The reason ? His wife and child died in a battle of the Avengers, he wanted revenge. Eh yes ! While the Avengers are often seen as heroes, they still often failed to recognize the damage they cause to stand up for what they believe is right.

In Black Panther (Marvel), Erik Killmonger was a kid from Wakanda abandoned in the United States by T’Chaka. After learning about the technological advancements of his home country, he found it unconscionable that such a developed nation would hide without helping others.

While this Marvel character’s motivations were honorable, his methods were unfortunately not the best. For good reason… In order to defend his ideas, he did not hesitate to commit murders.

Also, Kaecilius, former student of the Elder in Dr. Strange, also lost his wife and child. This is why the latter chose to turn to the dark dimension to find a way to bring them back to life. MCE TV tells you more about the Marvel Villains.

Marvel: Those Times the Villains Had an Understandable Motivation!

Not so bad after all

Besides Helmut Zemo, Erik Killmonger or Kaecilius, Victor Von Doom is also a Marvel villain whose motivations can be understood.

In the comics, the latter is not always one of the bad guys. He even teams up with Dr. Strange to travel to Hell in an effort to fight Mephisto. His mission ? Prevent him from possessing his mother’s soul.

Also, in Thor: Ragnarok (Marvel), Hela, the daughter of Odin who was at the side of her father to conquer the nine kingdoms, has been expelled. Furious, the young woman therefore took the decision to take revenge.

Neither one nor two, she then denounced the hypocrisy of his father and the Asgardians. According to her, they are the ones who made her what she has become.

A similar situation for Ultron. Indeed, this one was born thanks to Tony Stark. Created to make the world a better place, he unfortunately ended up endangering it when he studied humanity.

Because ! Ultron decided that the only way to protect Men was to destroy them. There’s no denying it, bad guys Marvel aren’t always dumb and cruel. On the contrary…
