However, if today Marine Le Pen criticizes the government for not having sufficiently anticipated the health crisis triggered by the extension of the Covid-19, especially when it comes to protective masks, yesterday she accused the executive … of having done too much during the H1N1 flu epidemic.
In January 2010, when Roselyne Bachelot, then Minister of Health, was interviewed by the Social Affairs Committee of the National Assembly about her contested management of the epidemic, Marine Le Pen, then vice President of the FN, sharply reproached her for having bought “without reason” too many vaccines and masks.
“To govern is to plan. When you are not able to plan and you spend taxpayers’ money without reason, because here we are talking about almost 2 billion euros. The French must know that beyond the billion spent on these doses [de vaccin], there is also everything else: Tamiflu stocks which expire quickly, masks, extremely expensive communication campaigns ”, she declared at the microphone of RFI.
Marine Le Pen then spoke of a “crisis of confidence” in the word of politicians from which “we will have to draw the consequences”. Words that should inspire the former presidential candidate more modesty today.
