When is a New York City without gasoline?

The city government is pursuing its goal of making all of its vehicles electric.

The city’s Department of Administrative Services initially aimed to add 4,000 electric vehicles by 2025, but this month it surpassed that number.

Mayor Adams’ administration is trying to accelerate the switch to electric cars for city workers instead of gasoline.

So far, some police cars have been changed and soon … several cleaning trucks will too.

There are currently 1,300 electric charging ports operated by the city, more than anywhere else in the state.

In addition, another 600 charging stations are planned to be built in the next year and a half.
