When confirmed, the spokesman for Kalla Husain Abdullah confirmed that the small child on the screen was the grandson of the former vice president.

“That’s a grandchild. Usually one or two (grandchildren) are invited to come to the Palace (for) the ceremony. But because it’s virtual, just come from home and still be included,” said Husain to Kompas.com, Monday (17/8/2020).

Meanwhile, Kalla hopes that the ceremony to commemorate the seconds of next year’s proclamation will be carried out in a normal situation and return to life.

“Of course this year we are experiencing stagnation due to the Covid-19 pandemic, but next year, God willing, it will be completed and the ceremony can be held as usual and the people can be happy to celebrate independence day,” said Kalla in a written statement, Monday (17/8/2020)
