Currently, WhatsApp users can initiate group calls or video calls with up to 4 participants, but the new update will increase the number of participants at least up to 6. It is unclear, however, what the maximum number of simultaneous participants will be.
This increased limit will only be available if everyone on the call keeps their app regularly updated.
However, the feature is not yet available in the beta version of WhatsApp, but it is evident in some code strings discovered by WABetaInfo. The changes are expected to be implemented in both the Android and iOS versions of messaging.
