Technologue.id, Jakarta – Meta intensively updates and adds new features for WhatsApp. After going to increase the time limit for deleting sent messages to two days, WhatsApp is now reportedly developing an option to report certain messages on the Desktop.

Reporting from WABetaInfo, the new feature is useful for helping users to report messages. Either messages that users find dangerous or unnatural.

This feature was previously released on WhatsApp beta for Android 2.21.20.1 and WhatsApp beta for iOS 2.21.190.12, but is still not available on Desktop/Web.

The company is currently testing the option ‘Report‘ on desktop users for release in future updates. Feature ‘Report‘ will appear when viewing message options in desktop app updates.

The settings apply to message reporting the same as those already in WhatsApp for Android and iOS. Only reported messages will be forwarded to the moderation team using the report message option.

The rules are slightly different from reporting direct contacts in chat info. If you report a direct contact, the five most recent messages in the conversation will be forwarded to WhatsApp. So that the moderation team can understand the context better.

In contrast to this new report option, users will find it easier to report certain messages. However, as of now, this feature is still in the testing phase in development and will be released in the WhatsApp Desktop beta update.
