Whether for business or pleasure, groups have become a must that are hard to escape. Lately, however, the group Facebook, owner of the app, he has received several reports from angry users. WhatsApp, empty account message: beware of the new scam
The new scam that runs on WhatsApp goes through an email, which falls within the aforementioned phenomenon of “phishing“. A computer scam consisting of an e-mail message with counterfeit logos to extract sensitive data and bank accounts. The text in question reads: “Dear Customer, Attention! Your WhatsApp Messenger account will expire. Registration no. Will will be completed within 24 hours, subscription renewal from 0.99 euros. Renew as soon as possible to avoid loss (photos, videos, messages). Check your account information by clicking on the link below“.
The always valid advice is to ignore the message completely and to do not click on this link for any reason. In fact, scammers manage to complete their scam every time users click on the link in the email.
For the avoidance of doubt, it is always good to remember that WhatsApp does not communicate directly with its users, so any reference to app administrators is clearly false. More there is no risk that the platform will become paid, so don’t join alleged chains to block this process.
