Although WhatsApp’s developers haven’t built in a way to block incoming calls directly, you can still do this with a trick through Android notifications.

- In order not to have to block contacts, you can switch off the call ringtone in a detour.
- You can do this in the Android notification settings. We don’t know of a possibility for iOS.
WhatsApp is by far the most popular messaging service in Germany. For many, WhatsApp calls are either a blessing or a curse. This effect is reinforced by the fact that WhatsApp does not offer any setting options that can block incoming calls.
If you don’t want to block several contacts at once and still want to be able to communicate with the person in writing despite deactivated calls, you can hide WhatsApp calls. In the following we will show you the procedure step by step.
Finished! All incoming notifications should now be hidden because the notification is suppressed. You will only see a call if you have the WhatsApp app open. Unfortunately, we could not find a corresponding solution for iOS.
