WhatsApp Beta Presents Multi-Device Features, Here’s How to Join or Quit

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – Users in Indonesia can try the beta version WhatsApp which has multi-device or multi-device features. If you join, users of this messaging application can use WhatsApp on four companion devices at once, without the need to connect the phone to the internet.

The multi-device beta is an opt-in program that gives users early access to try out new versions of WhatsApp for Web, Desktop and Portal. When joining the multi-device Beta, users can use the linked companion device without needing to connect the phone to the Internet, but private messages, media, and calls will remain end-to-end encrypted.

“To get the best communication experience, please update to the latest version of WhatsApp on your device,” wrote the WhatsApp help center page, Tuesday, September 21, 2021.

After joining the multi-device Beta, users will need to re-link the companion device. Here are the details on how to join and leave WhatsApp beta with multi-device:

How to join:

Android device, just open WhatsApp, tap More options, select Linked devices, then tap Multi-device beta, and JOIN THE BETA. For iPhone devices, go to WhatsApp Settings, tap Linked devices, select Multi-device Beta, and can tap join.

How to exit:

For Android devices, open WhatsApp directly, tap More options, select Linked devices, then Multi-device beta, then tap OUT OF BETA. And the iPhone how, open WhatsApp Settings, tap Linked Devices, select Multi-Device Beta, and Exit Beta.
