The race weekend in Qatar is about to start. At the end of this morning we go wild with the last race of this ‘triple-header’.
The Qatar Grand Prix is on the calendar for the first time this year and will be held on the Losail International Circuit. It’s already the twentieth race of this season and so we slowly but surely creep towards the end of one of the most talked about seasons ever. The Losail International Circuit is located about 35 kilometers north of Doha and, as mentioned earlier, is therefore on the calendar for the first time this year as the Grand Prix of Qatar.

The unknown circuit
The track was built in 2004 and has been mainly used in MotoGP since then. It hasn’t been re-surfaced since 2004, so the track has already been run in quite a bit. That should ensure that there is a lot of grip. The 5,380km circuit features many long twisters that are taken at high speed and require a lot of downforce, generally good types of track for the men of all ages. Red Bull Racing. There is also a long straight with a DRS zone, where Mercedes can hit again. In short: we have to wait and see for one of the two remaining great unknowns. In any case, it promises to be very exciting again with a difference of only fourteen points between Max Verstappen on Lewis Hamilton.

Fans of the usual race times can breathe a sigh of relief next weekend. We return to the usual times and so the Sunday afternoon can be set up again to enjoy the next chapter in the exciting Verstappen/Hamilton battle.
