It took a good three years since The Elder Scrolls Online was released in April 2014 until a housing system from developer Zenimax Online Studios was submitted with the Homestead update in February 2017. The long waiting time of the fans was rewarded, the competition like Final Fantasy XIV, Star Wars: The Old Republic, Ultima Online and New World left ESO far behind in housing.
We take a closer look at the building system and its possibilities and have got support for it. With Fufuns aka Jaqueline and Raghor aka Christian, two well-known greats from the ESO housing scene share their experiences with us and present very special projects.
Our author Gloria H. Manderfeld particularly likes to throw herself into the housing and decoration system at MMOs in order to implement her own ideas. Usually, after a short time, she despairs because of a lack of furniture selection, but not so in Elder Scrolls Online. She still spends a lot of time on the hunt for furnishing plans to complete her collection of interesting, manufacturable decorations as much as possible, and tinkers mainly with detailed small projects.

Even in the basic game, you can move into one of three guest rooms in the starting areas free of charge using the Quest. The DLC chapters add five more. In these small chambers you will gain your first experience with the housing system. A lot of decoration does not fit into the bower, however. If that is not enough for you, you either put a chunk of gold coins on the table or buy one of over eighty properties in different sizes using the premium currency kroner.
