The first version of Mac OS X had Aqua, which has kept evolving over time. With macOS 11, aka macOS Big Sur, Apple has once again done a lot of work on the interface of its operating system. The influences are very diverse. Some elements are reminiscent of old versions of macOS, icons in particular to which we would have added 3D. All the work on transparency recalls what Apple tried to do in the days of Yosemite and iOS 7. Other borrowings are strongly inspired by iOS, such as the way in which the notification and control centers are integrated.
In the end, this represents a pretty big change for mature system software like macOS. But do you like these changes?
