What concerts are on the ChartrEstivales program this week?

The ChartrEstivales meeting has existed for thirty years and twenty-eight editions. Organized at the time by the Chartres Tourist Office, these shows are now offered by the ChartrEstivales association to bring the town to life during the summer.

Tuesday July 5

GABIERS D’ARTIMON

The Gabiers d’Artimon will open the week with their sea shanties on the Place des Halles. The Morbihan choir is back with the ChartrEstivales, they performed there in 2017. In 2018, the Gabiers d’Artimon had a choirmaster, two accordion players and a guitarist, 41 singers (tenors, baritones, basses) and two technicians. The musical formation has recorded over the years, three CDs.

Wednesday July 6

Ricky Norton and the white socks will liven up the evening, place des Halles. The five friends will take you back to the 60s with their songs. The group was created by Daniel Delannoy in 2000 to pay tribute to Les Chaussettes Noires, Eddy Mitchell’s first group. Ricky Norton sings, Grégoire Garrigues and Andras Mitchell play guitar, Paolo Coccina is on bass, and Jeannot Cirillo has returned exceptionally to drums for their latest album, better daysreleased in 2021.

Thursday July 7

Jean-Luc Étienne, organ teacher at the regional conservatory of Tours will perform in Chartres Cathedral.
