What can we expect in Act III of Valorant?
Riot Games reveals what awaits players in the third season of Valorant. In addition to the winter map announced yesterday, a new agent will be added to the game, and the ranking system will change significantly. The developer also showed the community as many as 10 new skins and 4 pendants.
Novelties in Act III
Act III will begin with a cool new map set in an arctic wasteland called Icebox.
Introducing Icebox now, and not in Episode 2, comes at a price – we decided to delay the release of our newest agent for two weeks (i.e. the length of the one patch cycle) from the start of Act III. In short, the last few patches haven’t been overly stable, and we both realize that most players care more about getting Icebox added to the game. Delaying the introduction of the new agent will allow us to deal with all the issues that may arise in patch 1.10.
To be honest, the Act III patch scares us a bit due to the large amount of new content and potential stability issues. We are committed to solving all problems as quickly as possible and fixing any shortcomings. The delay will give our team a moment to take a break to make sure that the current agents are working well with the new map (invisible spy cameras, indestructibility, teleporting to the wrong neighborhood, etc.) before their members introduce another variable into the game.
AN UPDATED ACTION PLAN IN ACT III
We’re still finishing the 1st episode with a bang. In addition to the latest map, players also have 50 circles of items from the new Battle Pass for personalizing the game, they can try a new rank thanks to the changes to matchmaking in the competitive mode, and will have the opportunity to try out a new agent in the next update.
MAP: ICEBOX (OCTOBER 13TH WILL COME IN RANKING GAMES AND OCTOBER 27 IN COMPETITION MODE)
The abandoned Kingdom Research Facility in the Arctic Wasteland is another setting for players to practice their accuracy and other skills. Smash through a thick layer of snow as attackers to plant Spike. Breach: As defenders, you can use zip lines to get to new and dangerous places.
The two most important zones with targets on the Icebox are conducive to frequent skirmishes, accuracy and adaptation to the prevailing conditions.
CHANGES IN THE RANKING MODE (OCTOBER 27)
The following changes to the ranked mode in Act III are intended to facilitate promotion in the classification and are the result of our continuous work on the condition of organized team matches:
- We’ll upgrade the Act’s Rank Badge when you start competing in a new act
- The rank queue has been reduced from 6 tiers to 3 tiers to level up players
- Now you can choose your preferred server and reduce your ping
- Promotion from Immortal upwards will now be entirely dependent on the number of wins and losses

ACT III COMBAT PASS (OCTOBER 13)
The Battle Pass returns in Act III in an improved form. We changed the progression conditions after the weekly missions so that players can unlock items faster and get additional epilogue levels.
Collect enemies’ scalps and earn XP, then pick up Act III exclusive items, such as the “Cold Art” tag for Arctic Battles, the “Dangerous Ray” player card, and the “Viper” graffiti to remind you to wash your hands.
Purchase the Act III Premium Battle Pass to unlock additional tiers of VALORANT items such as the Vandal of Destruction, the Disco Ball Tag, and the Surge Bucky Weapon (with different variants!).
WEAPON SKIN: PERSONALITY (OCTOBER 13)
The singularity comes from a distant future and came here after a long journey from the beyond. It is powerful, abstract and mysterious. Nobody knows where it comes from and how it was made.
Purchase a Curiosity Set to tame her unstable energy when you use the following weapons: Phantom, Sheriff, Specter, Ares and Melee weapons.
