Therefore, and according to Emol, the nutritionist of the School of Nutrition and Dietetics of the Universidad Andrés Bello (UNAB), located in Chile, Rebeca Flores Galleguillos, recommends avoiding certain foods to prevent the digestive system from being accelerated in the night:

  • Foods that contain a lot of fiber, that are very spicy or flatulent such as legumes, broccoli, ice cream, among others.
  • Fritters and excess salt.
  • And this is added coffee and alcohol.

Dinner is as important as breakfast and lunch, since the body of the human being requires 24 hours of nutrients, for that reason nutritionists recommend eating every three to four hours.

But this is something difficult for people to accomplish, due to the daily activities that must be carried out during the day, which leads us to have a bad eating habit and messy food schedules.

Given this, it is important that at night you choose light meals, healthy and balanced such as puddings, vegetable creams, soups, stews, dried fruits, among others.

“With a good amount of carbohydrates so that more serotonin is produced, which has a calming effect for sleep and these in turn, must be accompanied by very few proteins,” explains Flores.
