What are the best diets for losing weight?

Losing weight is often a real challenge, especially since you have to respect your body’s needs to stay healthy. Experts have therefore studied different diets to identify the best ones, combining weight loss and respect for health.

A diet yes, but good for your health!

Whether it’s losing 5 or 30 pounds, cutting back on calories often means choosing an unhealthy diet. We deprive ourselves and, as soon as we stop the diet, we resume all the kilos eliminated. To lose weight effectively, you must respect your body by providing it with the right nutrients, taking your time and avoiding the most fatty, sweet or salty foods without completely depriving yourself of them.

To help people wishing to lose weight, 25 American experts (nutritionists, dieticians and doctors) have ranked 35 of the best-known diets. They focused on seven criteria ranging from short-term weight loss to the number of pounds lost two years later to ease of tracking, health risks or nutritional value and prevention of heart disease and diabetes.

The top and the flop: the Mediterranean diet and the Dukan diet

Among all the diets studied, it turns out that the Mediterranean diet is the most effective while being the best for health. We eat a lot of vegetables, fruits, whole grains, dried fruits as well as olive oil, the queen of oils, because very rich in omega 3. In addition, this diet is poor in red meat, sugar, but also saturated fat. It allows you to lose weight while eating properly. It is also easy to follow and good for the heart, brain and cancer prevention.

The Mediterranean diet is followed, in this classification, by the Dash diet (thought to stop hypertension) and the flexitarian diet, which is close to vegetarian food by keeping a small portion of meat in the menus.

Finally, on the side of the bad students, we find the Dukan diet in last place. The Whole30 and Keto regimes came in 33rd and 34th positions. These three regimes are considered too restrictive and often difficult to follow. They cause frustration and risk because they do not meet the body’s nutrient needs.
