Westerdam passenger manhunt after reported coronavirus

The diagnosis establishing that an American passenger of the liner Westerdam had contracted the coronavirus on her arrival in Malaysia was confirmed by a second test, indicated on Sunday the Malaysian deputy prime minister Wan Azizah Wan Ismail.

Thethe 83-year-old woman was among 1,455 passengers on the liner authorized to dock in Cambodia on Thursday after being denied access to the territory of five other neighboring countries. According to the agency Reuters, the Holland America Line said it is working with governments and experts from the United States Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO) to track passengers disembarked from the Westerdam. She said that none of the 1,454 other passengers and 802 crew members had reported any symptoms.

Singapore announced for its part Sunday the detection of three new cases of coronavirus thus bringing their number to 75 in the city-state. Among the new cases is a member of the Singaporean Air Force.
