West Ham United to Let Declan Rice Go for £100 Million – Prague News

Prague

West Ham United have given up Declan Rice to go this summer. The Hammers did not want to hold back their captain’s wishes.

This was said by West Ham co-owner David Sullivan after Final Europa Conference League, Thursday (8/6/2023) early morning WIB. Rice led his colleagues to beat Fiorentina 2-1 and became champions.

This was the first and last trophy for Rice with West Ham. Despite having two years remaining on his contract, Rice wants a new challenge at a bigger club.

“I feel like that (Rice’s last game at West Ham),” Sullivan told talkSPORT.

“We promised to let him go. He already wants to leave. You can’t ask anything more from a player who has committed more to us this season.”

Rice has often been speculated about his future throughout this season. His ability as a box-to-box midfielder has made many clubs target him.

So far only Arsenal and Bayern Munich have made a serious approach. Reportedly, West Ham is just about to let Rice go for £100 million.

“Therefore, Rice has to go and we have to find a replacement – or a few replacements. We don’t want this to happen. We offered him a £200,000-a-week contract about 18 months ago, but it was rejected,” Sullivan continued.

“He’d rather lose £10 million to stay that long. He did want to leave. You can’t keep players from wanting to leave anymore.”

Declan Rice is a graduate of the West Ham academy with 15 goals and 13 assists from 245 matches.
