West German shooting “likely” several dead

UThe shootout in Rot am See, in southwest Germany, on Friday “killed” several people and the alleged shooter was arrested, police in Aalen said in a tweet.

The shooting, the alleged perpetrator of which was arrested, took place at midday in the area near Stuttgart. Several people were also injured, according to local police, who deployed an important device on the spot.

The victims are all members of the same family, ensures the daily Bild on its website while the police only indicated that the people involved in the shooting knew each other.

The alleged shooter is a man born in 1983, according to Bild. He acted alone and there is no indication of the possible existence of an accomplice, according to the German press agency DPA.

The shooting took place around 12:45 p.m. local time near Rot am See train station, a town of 5,200 residents near the city of Heidelberg in the regional state of Baden-Württemberg.
