by Alex Carter - Sports Editor

West Bromwich Albion’s £4.7 million ⁢summer signing, Aune Heggebo, experienced a ⁢whirlwind week⁢ culminating in his international debut for ‍Norway during their 11-1 victory over Moldova on Tuesday evening.Heggebo joined ⁣Albion from Brann earlier this summer adn quickly ⁣established himself in teh starting lineup, earning an assist on‍ the opening day of the ‍campaign. He followed this up with his first goal for the‌ Baggies in the EFL Cup against Derby County.

His impressive early-season performances caught⁣ the attention of Norway ‍manager⁣ Stale Solbakken, who previously managed Wolves, and led⁤ to a call-up for the recent international ⁣matches. The‌ prospect arose after Wolves striker Jorgen Strand Larsen‌ withdrew from the squad.

While ‍Heggebo was an unused substitute in Norway’s 1-0 friendly win against ⁢Finland, he‌ made his debut in the 92nd minute of the rout against Moldova.Manchester City’s Erling Haaland ⁣dominated the match, scoring five goals.

Should Heggebo‍ maintain his strong form for ⁤West Brom, further‍ international opportunities are likely to follow ⁢in the coming months.
