Wesley Sneijer (36) tells in his new book Sneijder about his career and about his relationship with Yolanthe Cabau (35). In conversation with NU.nl he says that he is sure that she is proud of him because of the publication of the book.
Sneijder initially said he intended not to talk too much about the relationship in the book. The two separated in March 2019, but were never separated. He tells NU.nl that he believed that talking about the subject “was part of it” and that he should be “naked with the buttocks”.
The former footballer says he is “a difficult talker”. “I thought this was a moment of: here it is, read it, and that’s what it is.” Also for his immediate environment, some of the revelations in the book came as a surprise. “I also heard from a good friend: ‘Jesus, I didn’t even know that.'”. It is not clear exactly what he is referring to.
Yolanthe has not yet responded to the book. “I gave the book to her yesterday and I am sure she is proud of me,” said Sneijder.
