Unusual methods in the fight for promotion…
On paper, Werder is clearly the favorite against Dynamo Dresden (1.30 p.m. / Sky) on Sunday. But the Saxons travel to Bremen with a breath of fresh air. Coach Guerino Capretti (40) is new to the club threatened with relegation and is making his debut against Werder.
His counterpart Ole Werner (33) therefore has to reach into his bag of tricks.
Werner becomes a third division spy
The German-Italian Capretti was previously on the sidelines at SC Verl in the 3rd division. He was released there after five years in mid-February.
Werner: “The change of coach makes things unpredictable. Of course we looked at what he was doing there in Verl to have a certain orientation and we also watched games.
All the more important that Werder not underestimate the supposedly weak opponent. What can happen then, Werner experienced only at the last home game: Against bottom Ingolstadt, his team could not get more than 1:1.

In addition to the euphoria after the spectacular 3:2 in the north derby, the numerous fans in the Weserstadion Werder should also push for the ninth win in the tenth game under Werner. A total of 25,000 spectators are allowed – 10,000 more than against Ingolstadt.
Werner: “It feels like real football again. We also experienced in Hamburg what can make a mood. That’s the salt in the soup for me. We are very happy about that.”
That sounds promising as long as Dynamo coach Capretti Werner doesn’t spit in the Werder soup…
