Well-known Antwerp restaurant asks guests 50 euros in advance when booking (Antwerp)

The owners of rooftop restaurant Laila by Bokertov have had it with guests who have made a reservation, but don’t show up. From now on they ask for an advance of 50 euros per person when making the reservation. Since they introduced that system, they barely count so-called ‘no shows’. With the many cancellations due to corona, the operators expect that even more operators will follow their example. Do restaurants have the right to ask for advance payments?
