The Nyfter Nyfboard HE Is not a new publication on the market of Custom-Gaming-Tastaturen. The wireless 75 percent keyboard has been available for several months, but was out of print despite its proud price of 200 quickly. From June, gaming peripheral specialist NYUTURE is now delivering the second batch. Of course, the PBT key caps and a mini screen, which are artistically embellished with a Sakura motif, also stands out through their Sakura motif, which is hardly larger than the missing end button in the middle block.
Further notes are the even exchangeable magnetic switches, in which you can set the release point in 0.1 mm steps up to 4.0 mm, and double insulation with gas ket-mount construction. As the sales success shows, all of this seems to have been worth 200 euros several months ago. But what does it look like at the moment? Does the offer still justify the price? My answer after a detailed test is not entirely.

Subtle light player
Different than with Gaming mice Is RGB lighting at Gaming keyboards And custom gaming keyboards still announced and is part of the mandatory equipment. Therefore that is too Nyfter Nyfboard HE An effective light player in which you can call up 18 effects via the software with key combination, but also by rotary knob and mini display and set their speed and brightness as well as the lighting color of certain effects. In addition, there are two audio visualization effects and an individual mode referred to in the software as “Light Edit”.
If you want to create creatively during the key lighting, you do not necessarily have to use the extensive, but sometimes confusing software. You also have the option of recording and saving up to three custom custom lighting profiles using key combinations (remove FN +) and then recalled via FN + 1/2/3.
What: PCGH
NYTUFTERS NYFboard HE optically notices through the PBT key caps decorated with a Japanese Sakura motif. The RGB lighting, on the other hand, is much more subtle.
It is a shame that all light games, whether prefabricated or created yourself, are rather subtle. This is because unlike the one tested here Endorfy Celeris 1800 No light through the PBT key caps of the Nyfter Nyfboard HE Seems, but only penetrates under these. This is then reflected on the aluminum switch plate and thus in particular color the areas between and under the keys. This then forms a nice contrast to the bright, thanks to artistically designed Sakura motif, visually highlighted keycaps.
The fact that Nyfter does not use a transparent area for the keyboard lettering and thus the double-shot production process shows that the gamer is more likely to win with the remarkable Sakura look than with a lot of colorful bling bling. In my case, this works, and the effect fireworks reflected from the holding plate for the Hall effect switch panel is sufficient-even in poor lighting conditions.
PCGH guide: Nyfboard HE in the test
Two FN occupancy levels and useful, but too small display
As usual with compact 75 percent keyboards without diggers and middle block keys, you can also find at the Nyfter Nyfboard HE Many additional functions at the FN occupancy level. This includes the media and brightness control, the missing middle block keys and the Win + Tab/Alt + Tab function. You can change these FN assignments, but there are even two levels (Layer 1/2) in the software under “Keybind”. In addition, you can also assign the buttons on each of the two occupancy levels known as a macro.
On the other hand, the key combinations for lighting, connecting selection or win key lock are firmly specified. A completely free programming of the FN level is therefore not possible. Other keyboards, such as the models of the Manufacturer Wooting offer more options and even three freely programmable occupancy levels. This is compatible with the open source solutions via and QMK Nyfter Nyfboard HE neither.
Nyfter Nyfboard HE only to a limited extent. His advertisements and functions in combination with the rotary control are undoubtedly useful. However, the display is much too small. “>
What: PCGH
“Small but fine” describes the mini screen of the Nyfter Nyfboard HE only to a limited extent. His advertisements and functions in combination with the rotary control are undoubtedly useful. However, the display is far too small.
A useful alternative to the key combinations on the FN level is the 2.56 cm² (1.6 cm × 1.6 cm) large mini screen. It shows, date, battery status, time, the OS, the connection mode (USB/2.4 GHz/Bluetooth), the Caps Lock and the Win key lock. In combination with the only moderately snap -in rotary control, you also control the volume and screen brightness or set the language (German/Chinese), the lighting (effect, direction, lighting color) and the operating system. The NYFboard HE is also compatible with MacOS. Both the displays and the setting options are helpful, but the screen is too small. Users who wear glasses like me can hardly recognize anything without them and are difficult to recognize with the smallest elements.
