The city welcomes the first baby born in all five boroughs in 2021.
Officials of the public health system announced that it is a child, Jaxel Rodríguez who was born in the Brooklyn Coney Island hospital and was the first baby of this new year.
The little one was born at exactly midnight, weighed six pounds one ounce and is 19 inches tall.
Jaxel’s parents are Ivett Rodriguez and Antonio Guilbert.
The baby is the couple’s third child, the family lives in Brooklyn and they say this is the best gift in the new year.
