Snowstorms and black ice rain have caused chaos in parts of Germany. Sometimes the German Weather Service issued warnings with the highest possible level of alert. What’s next with the weather in Münsterland?
Münsterland – Snow storm “Tristan” has on the weekend (February 6/7) Germany reached. In places it fell up to half a meter Fresh snow. Because of the precipitation and because of strong Drifting snow gave the German Weather Service (DWD) the highest possible alert level. The meteorologists’ warning cards lit up in many different signal colors. Parts of the country were colored purple at times.
From Münsterland to East Westphalia in North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW) caused this Weather on Snow chaos. Freezing rain made for temperatures below 0 degrees Black ice. Accidents and closings that lasted for hours sometimes occurred on the streets and highways. According to the police, however, in most cases it remained with sheet metal damage. Overall, the volume of traffic in large parts of Germany was low because many people stayed at home.

Weather in Germany: DWD issues the highest possible weather warning level
The experts at German weather service had on Sunday (February 7th) for the area from Münster in the west to Hanover in the north and Kassel in the south to Halle in the east highest possible severe weather warning level published, as reported by merkur.de *. Thus several federal states were like NRW, Lower Saxony, Hesse, Thuringia and Saxony-Anhalt directly from the Snow chaos affected. The Weather–warning lasted until late in the evening.

The Winter service in NRW can hardly keep up with their evictions. Weather: Snow chaos puts bus traffic in Münster on hold
Most of the bus stops in Münster are not from Monday morning snow and ice freed. The Bus transport could therefore not be resumed yet, announced the municipal utilities. The partly mirror-smooth roads would ensure that a safe journey is currently not possible. No bus should be set in motion before 1 p.m., reports Radio Antenne. The city’s crisis team will decide how to proceed around 11 a.m. The Weather reminds a little of the snow chaos of 1978/1979.
While many Traffic routes in NRW are still covered by a blanket of white snow, at least some of the main roads are in Münster passable again. But there are currently problems mainly on the back roads. There are many in the residential areas motorist im snow firmly. Cycling is also hard to think of, as most of the footpaths and bike paths are not free. The way to work on Monday morning is likely to be a major challenge for many people in Germany.

Weather causes chaos: rail traffic in Germany has come to a standstill in many places
Because of the Snow storm “Tristan” had the Deutsche Bahn (DB) the Long-distance transport in Germany largely discontinued on Sunday. snow and ice had made stretches impassable. In addition, numerous overhead lines were damaged. Must also on Monday commuter expect restrictions. Weather: Due to snow chaos – garbage cans will not be emptied on Monday
The waste management companies Münster (AWM) announced that due to the Snow the Garbage cans not be emptied on Monday. Bulky and green goods are also affected. The strong Snowfall have made sure that the streets for the garbage trucks are currently not passable. When and whether the Monday collection will be rescheduled cannot yet be said. The Recyclinghöfe also stay closed on Monday. This is also to blame here Weather.
On Monday are in NRW Further Snowfall not excluded. The temperatures are in Münster to the -7 Grad. However, the wind ensures that the values feel even colder.
