Weather Switzerland: Bitter cold night with -35 degrees on the Glattalp

The frost still has a firm grip on Switzerland. In the night of Sunday the temperatures fell to new lows. On the Glattalp in the canton of Schwyz, one of the coldest places in Switzerland, the thermometer fell to -35.3 degrees on Saturday at 10:50 p.m.

It was also bitterly cold in Samedan GR, as MeteoNews announced on Twitter early on Sunday morning. The thermometer fell here to -22 degrees. In Buffalora at the Ofenpass it was -26 degrees. In large parts of the central plateau, temperatures below -10 degrees were measured.

Over the course of Sunday, temperatures should rise again towards freezing point or slightly above. The Bise should gradually lose its strength. In the coming week, weak disturbances on Tuesday and Wednesday will bring milder temperatures again. (sda)
