Düsseldorf (dpa / lnw) – The weather in North Rhine-Westphalia will be wintry and changeable towards the middle of the week. In the mountains and from the Eifel to East Westphalia, it should snow Tuesday morning, as the German Weather Service (DWD) announced. Up to ten centimeters of fresh snow are possible in higher congestion locations. In the course of the day, the precipitation should initially subside. The maximum temperatures are between three and six degrees, in the mountains between minus one and plus two degrees. Above 600 meters, a strong westerly wind also creates snow drifts.

In the night of Wednesday the clouds become thicker again. In the lower areas it should rain, in the mountains up to five centimeters of fresh snow fall. In addition, the roads in the country can be slippery. Even during the day it should rain or snow again and again. The maximum values ​​are between two degrees in East Westphalia and six degrees on the Rhine, in the mountainous region between zero and three degrees. At the end of the week it stays wet, but it gets a little warmer: According to the DWD, up to nine degrees are possible in the Rhineland on Friday.
