Weather: Belgium officially in a national heat wave

It will still be very hot Monday with maximums of 30 degrees at sea at 35 or 36 degrees in the center as well as in Campine, forecasts the MRI.

AWith 32.8 degrees recorded on Sunday in Uccle, Belgium is officially entering a national heat wave, MRI meteorologist David Dehenauw announced on Sunday evening.

The Royal Meteorological Institute speaks of a national climatic heat wave when the maximums in Uccle reach at least 25 degrees for at least five consecutive days among which the threshold of 30 degrees is reached for at least three days. Since Wednesday, the temperatures recorded in Uccle are: 28.8 degrees Wednesday, 32.0 degrees Thursday, 33.9 degrees Friday, 35.9 degrees Saturday and 32.8 degrees Sunday.

The red alert remains in force tomorrow / Monday throughout Belgium, with the exception of the Coast (yellow warning) and the province of Luxembourg (orange warning).
