Researchers from Northwestern University (USA) and AbilityLab Hospital in Chicago have developed a wearable device that examines the human respiratory system around the clock and identifies symptoms of coronavirus. It will be able to detect the symptoms of the disease long before the person himself begins to notice them.

A device made of soft silicone material is attached to the throat and records many parameters – breathing, heart rate, body temperature and cough. This data is transmitted to the cloud, in which algorithms process this data and signal the symptoms of coronavirus. It turns out a modern fitness tracker, only for a pandemic.

The sensor does not have connectors or holes, and charging is enough for a whole day. at the end of the day, a person should remove it from the neck and put it on charge, it works without wires. Therefore, it can be worn around the clock without removing even in the shower.

A wearable device for detecting coronavirus symptoms is already being tested in 25 patients with confirmed disease. The research team already produces dozens of devices per week and is ready to expand production to hundreds. The creators of the device have not yet decided how to further develop this idea and how to launch it on the market.
