On Friday, August 13, those who make up the National University of Loja (UNL) will elect their authorities for the Superior Collegiate Body (OCS). List A, University Transformation, made its candidates known to the public.

10 years ago, the Alma Mater lived one of the most difficult stages in its history, since an administration led to academic and administrative chaos, the loss of budget, the closure of undergraduate and graduate programs; in addition, deterioration of the physical infrastructure, decrease in the student population, added to an intervention process that affected the institutional image, said Hernán Torres Carrión, representative of the academic community on the list.
“To continue working in favor of the academy, the A list is made up of students, workers and teachers who have stood out in their work and academic fields. By the estate of teachers: Paulina Moncayo Cuenca, Marco Montaño Lozano, Karina Calva Jirón, Alex Valdivieso Luna, Juan Ochoa Aldeán, Daniela Calva Cabrera and Kléver Chamba Caillagua.
While, by the estate of the workers: Ena Regina Peláez Soria; and for him Student: Dasna Cueva Calderón and Josué Chamba León.
The leader of the teachers on list A, Paulina Moncayo Cuenca, indicated that the work plan will be focused on 5 axes: management to strengthen institutional regulations; management for academic transformation; management for equity and labor justice; management for the quality of vocational training; and, management of the institutional patrimony.
They will also define the mechanisms to create the Faculty of Arts and with this they will support the law to review and return the Theater and Casona to the Alma Mater; since they are currently in the hands of the Municipality of Loja.
Ena Peláez Soria, representative of the workers, pointed out that hundreds of young people were educated at the Casona Universitaria and Teatro Simón Bolívar, therefore, they will support so that these real estate are returned to the institution that by law and history corresponds to them.
