About Once We Were Famous / Once, We Were Famous

A terrible murder, children without childhood and an illegal reunion that tastes like blood.

Vito, Amanda and Ponce are ten years old. One afternoon, bored, they kill a two-year-old baby. After several years in juvenile centers, they go out onto the streets with the promise of reintegration into society. They have to look for work, lead a stable life and promise not to contact each other again. Can they keep the promise?

Miguel Alcantud starts from a real case, that of the murderous children of Liverpool, to articulate a novel of great impact that reflects on the nature of evil. Once We Were Famous is an incisive, direct thriller that hits and knocks out the reader’s conscience.

Born in Cartagena in 1971, Miguel Alcantud has directed four films. He is artistic director of Microteatro. In 2013 he was a finalist for the Valle-Inclán Theater Award. He has directed several chapters of Águila Roja and El Internado. In 2021 he published his first novel with Sum: Uncertainty. Once We Were Famous is his second novel.
