Governor Omar Prieto presented a plan of “three schemes” to reduce hours in the cargo administration on Thursday, August 20, for evaluation by the Corpoelec company and the authorities of the electricity sector.

He said, after concluding a meeting at the Corpoelec Caujarito Energy Dispatch and System Control Center, located on the road to the airport, that he hopes to announce it on Monday 24-A, when the meeting of the General Staff for covid-19 is held in Cabimas.

“At Monday’s meeting on covid-19, which will be held in the Cabimas municipality, we will announce the hours and the sectors that are going to be administered,” said Prieto.

He explained that load management continues to be carried out “in four blocks”, but at the meeting “we made a proposal of three schemes to be evaluated in the next few hours (by the Corpoelec team and the authorities of the electricity sector). Tomorrow the (Government) team comes to look for the answer that will be given to the communities ”.

“I announced (that it was) six hours, and the statistics show us that they do not reach a maximum of five and a half hours. Let’s try to get those five and a half hours down. A study will be carried out and on Monday we will be reporting the cargo block ”.

He clarified that when the PAC exceeds six hours, it is because “it may be accompanied by a fault that the area appeared.”

“El Zulia has a demand on the west coast of 1,300 MW, today we are above 2,000 MW,” he said while highlighting that later “our own generation will be at zero, now we have it at 310 megawatts.”

“The goal is to reach between 700 and 800 megawatts of (own) generation, achieving this we will bring the load management to zero, of course away from events that may occur, but with an important response capacity,” he said.

“We are all at home for the quarantine, in protection. There are areas of Maracaibo that do not have gas, as in Calle 67, and everything is for electricity consumption. We have a study done in Maracaibo and San Francisco and all this is coupled with the heat (…) and the rains. We, as mourners of the people, are looking for improvement (…) ”, he responded when asked by journalists about the increase in electricity demand.

The governor also announced that they will incorporate the Health and Safety General Staff into the Social Room to be interacting with all sectors.
