We may be dealing with an unimaginable scandal

On Monday, the former Minister of Transport Sławomir Nowak was detained by the CBA. He has been charged with leading a criminal group profiting from corruption and money laundering. The allegations concern the period when Nowak was the head of the Ukrainian Ukrawtodor.

– Serious doubts may arise from the fact that Sławomir Nowak’s work in Ukraine was completed last autumn, and, as the media reports, until recently Sławomir Nowak was the object of operational works by Polish services – said Borys Budka, the head of PO on TVN24.

– Therefore, maybe it was not about Sławomir Nowak, but about knowledge about the election campaign. This may raise serious doubts as to whether this case was used for surveillance and illegal gaining of knowledge about what was happening in the election staff. If that were the case, we are dealing with an unimaginable scandal – said the PO leader.

Budka announced that his party would demand explanations “whether on this occasion there had been illegal surveillance of opposition politicians”. – If this case was used for surveillance and gaining knowledge, e.g. in the activities of the election staff, it would be an unusual scandal and a thing that should not take place in a democratic country – he added.

In recent weeks, Sławomir Nowak was to advise the staff of Rafał Trzaskowski and answer, inter alia, for creating online spots.
